From 20 June 2022 onwards, Tom Collins & Company Solicitors is operating as a limited liability partnership, under the name Tom Collins & Company Solicitors LLP. We are authorised by the Legal Services Regulatory Authority to operate, from that date, as a limited liability partnership under the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015.  This was a change in status only, not the creation of a new firm or new partnership.

From 20 June 2022, as set out in Section 123 the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015, (subject to the exceptions listed therein), a Partner in Tom Collins & Company Solicitors LLP registered in Ireland, has no personal liability for any debts, liabilities or obligations which are incurred for the purpose of carrying on the business of Tom Collins & Company Solicitors LLP registered in Ireland (whether these are liabilities of Tom Collins & Company Solicitors LLP registered in Ireland, of himself or herself, of another partner/member or partners or members in Tom Collins & Company Solicitors LLP registered in Ireland or of any employee, agent or representative of Tom Collins & Company Solicitors LLP registered in Ireland) and however such liability may arise.

The above relates only to the personal liability of Partners and does not prevent or restrict the enforcement against the property of Tom Collins & Company Solicitors LLP registered in Ireland of any debt, liability or obligation. The Partnership Act 1890 (Ireland) applies to Tom Collins & Company Solicitors LLP registered in Ireland to the extent that it is not inconsistent with Chapter 3 of Part 8 of the Legal Services Regulation Act 2015.
